The Challenges of Social Media Management in Language Schools

The task of managing social media in language schools is very often in the hands of a teacher, DOS or an administrative staff member—and none of them may have had a marketing training.

On the other hand, the social media champion often has to juggle social media with other language school activities like teaching, coordinating teachers, selling language courses and so on.

Consequently, there’s little time for social media and coming up with fresh social media post ideas becomes a challenge.

If you are secretly saying “yes, yes that’s exactly our problem”, then you’re in the right place. This blog article will give you an overview of how AI can help you with creating new social media posts for you language school marketing in less time as well prompts to try.

Key Conditions for AI Success in Social Media Content Creation

AI is not just a trend—it’s a transformative force in the education sector. As teacher trainer Cristina Cabal highlighted:

“Artificial Intelligence is here to stay… so I choose to love it and use it, to squeeze it and have fun with it.”

If you are already using Generative AI tools like ChatGPT at the school for lesson content creation, why not integrate it in social media content creation to make social media easier and faster? It’s more straightforward than what you imagine and with the right prompts you can really speed up social media content creation. ( Pssst…you’ll get prompt ideas in this article )

The good news is that using AI for social media posts creation, doesn’t require a massive investment! ChatGPT and other AI based tools can help you save time significantly even with their free plans. The most important thing is that you’re the captain of your own ship, i.e you have:

✔️A social media marketing strategy in place with clear objectives and tactics based on your needs.

✔️A content plan based on your strategy.

✔️Learned how to interact with Artificial Intelligence with clear instructions using it as an assistant .

Transforming Your Content Plan into Engaging Social Media Posts with AI

In my Fifty-fifty service formula I create a tailored content plan for the language school based on their marketing and social media objectives. This means that they can manage their social media according to the plan while making sure the generated posts are aligned with their overall marketing strategy.

I have noticed though, that in some cases, even in the presence of a detailed content plan, remaining consistent on social media is a challenge either because of time or because of the lack of copywriting skills. Another reason, is the lack of having someone to bounce ideas.

In this case, AI is an excellent “brainstorming companion”. AI can provide creative input and generate a range of ideas, helping you overcome the isolation of working alone.

Please note I’m talking about brainstorming which means that you’ll be using AI to accelerate the social media content creation but the final touch is YOURS! . To get the best out of Generative AI like ChatGPT , it’s vital to prompt it the best way possible and then adapt and personalize the answers before sharing your social media posts with the world.

What can AI do for social media champions in language schools?

AI can do sooooo many things!. Above all, AI will help social media champions in language schools to transform the content plan into social media posts and adapt them for the various social media platforms.

AI, especially tools like ChatGPT, is a great asset to help your repurpose content as well.

Here’s a list of SOME social media tasks that Generative-AI will help you simplify:

  • Brainstorm social media post ideas for a specific content pillar or social media platform.
  • Generate captions, hooks and CTAs (call to action) for social media posts.
  • Proofread captions and improve social media copy written by you.
  • Create a basic social media calendar based on the content plan.
  • Repurpose content like blog articles, podcasts and webinars into social media posts.
  • Generate engaging emoticons.
  • Suggest visuals for your social media posts.

AI Prompts Examples to Speed Up Social Media Content Creation for Language Schools

As a social media specialist for language schools I find AI incredibly helpful in simplifying and accelerating some tasks I used to do “manually” taking me endless hours. I use AI as a tool in a way that it supports me when I need it and so that I work smarter, not harder!

Let me share examples of ChatGPT prompts I have used to speed up and simplify social media content creation to inspire you! Here we go:

✔️Turn this course info from our website into a Facebook post that is targeting parents of children: [INSERT paragraph or link to the website page].

✔️Write a LinkedIn post in the voice of our school director about the importance of learning English for career success. Use this writing style: [INSERT SAMPLE of something written by the director so that AI learns their tone of voice].

✔️Behave like a social media manager of a language school. The school wants to generate more enquiries for the conversation evening classes. Write a Facebook post encouraging potential adult students to sign up to our open lesson on [INSERT all relevant data] .

✔️Create a social media content calendar for next month with four posts a week. Next month we are taking enrolments for our teenage courses . Here’s the information about our teen courses and here’s the buyer personas for teens.[COPY AND PASTE data or ATTACH a file with the info] .

✔️Create a LinkedIn post promoting our new online course. Describe the course in 150 words or less, and drive traffic to this URL: [INSERT URL]. Here’s the information about the course [COPY AND PASTE info] . Use PAS formula (problem -agitation- solution)

✔️Write a video script that walks viewers through our school app. The script should be no more than 15 seconds long and include the key steps to access the app and find the info. Here’s the info about our app [INSERT info]

✔️Create a 15-second Reel script that is funny, creative, and talks about pronunciation mistakes that Italian learners of English usually make.

Repurposing Content for Social Media with the Help of ChatGPT

Content creation while juggling with teaching, course sales and other school activities can be really stressful! One way of getting off the hamster wheel of content creation is to REPURPOSE content.

Repurposing content means taking existing materials—like blog posts, website content, newsletters, or even lesson plans—and adapting them into different formats for use across your social media channels.

For example, you can turn course information on your website into a series of bite-sized social media posts. This approach not only saves you time but also ensures that your content reaches a broader audience in varied and engaging ways

Basically, by repurposing content, you’ll be able to maintain a consistent online presence without constantly having to create new material from scratch.

Practical AI Prompts for Faster Social Media Posts

Here are some prompts to inspire you to repurpose content for social media with the help of ChatGPT:

Turn this blog post into a Facebook post that is targeting parents of children: [INSERT blog or link to the blog).

Write a LinkedIn post in the voice of our school director about the importance of learning English for career success. Use this writing style: [INSERT SAMPLE].

Pretend you are the social media manager of a language school. The school wants to attract more students to the conversation evening classes. Write a Facebook post encouraging people to sign up to our open lesson on (insert date) .

Create a social media content calendar for next month with four posts a week. Next month we are taking enrolments for our teenage courses . Here’s the information about our teen courses and here’s the teens avatar.

Create a LinkedIn post promoting our new online course. Describe the course in 150 words or less, and drive traffic to this URL: [INSERT URL].

Write a video script that walks viewers through our school app. The script should be no more than 15 seconds long and include the key steps to access the app . Here’s the info about our app (insert info)

Create a 15-second Reel script that is funny, creative, and talks about pronunciation mistakes that [Italian ] learners of English usually make.

Add interlines and emojis to this post caption aimed at adult students of English about our evening conversation classes.

What to Do Before Posting AI-Generated Content

⚠️Prompts are a starting point OF A PROCESS⚠️

Part of the process is always checking the content produced and making sure you fine tune it. AI is the starting point and it needs your magic touch to make it realistic and personalized. Are the words used the ones you normally use? Is the caption produced something you would normally write? Is the information correct? What’s missing to make it more YOU?

Another point to consider is the length of the instruction (my personal experience). I have noticed that ChatGPT works better when you break instructions up a little so I don’t put all that I need at once in one single prompt. Instead I break it up like this.

For example if what I need is: Turn this course info from our website into a Facebook post that is targeting parents of primary school children. I want the post to be emotional, starting with a question and ending with a call to action that drives traffic to the website.

I will start by only prompting this: Turn this course info from our website into a Facebook post that is targeting parents of primary school children.

Then I will refine it to the point I’m happy with it and then I will give it the rest of the instructions.

So, as you can see, using Generative-AI for social media post creation is NOT about copying and pasting!

Personalization: the secret to success when using AI!

The more details you feed in the better the outcome it spits out. This takes me to another important point: Training your ChatGPT to learn about your:

  • Tone of voice
  • Client type
  • Services

The foundations of a social media strategy is to understand your ideal clients’ needs and pains, be crystal clear about what your language services are like, how you compare with other schools and what objectives you have. Once this information is in place, put it in a document and use it to feed it into the chat before you set the prompts. In this way you’ll ensure the tool learns about you and your tone of voice. Make sure this info is always handy in case you need to remind the Chatbot!

You can also ask ChatGPT what it needs to learn about your tone of voice, services and so on. See the example below:

Conclusion

We have seen how incorporating AI-based tools like ChatGPT into your language school marketing content creation will make it faster and, dare I say, more engaging. (NB. After all, ChatGPT has great copywriting skills).

However, it DOES NEED to be managed by someone who has basic social media management skills and a strategic social media plan. While it’s true that AI can create content for you, it’s also true that it lacks your context and your data. For this reason, it’s vital to have a social media strategy in place aligned with your language academy’s overall marketing objectives.

By following your strategy and using AI in the process of content creation, it will be faster to create content and easier to maintain a consistent online presence even at the busiest times!
